Chatbot Summit round-up: Key learnings and more

This week, Resonance participated in the seventh international edition of the Chatbot Summit, which made its UK debut at ExCeL London on 11th-12th October. The much-anticipated summit attracted around 2000 delegates and 50 exhibitors from across the globe, and was an unmissable event for those in the field of Conversational AI and chatbots.

Attending this gathering of industry leaders offered Resonance a fantastic chance to dive deeper into the world of chatbots and generative AI. We were proud to be a Gold sponsor of the Chatbot Summit and facilitated many meaningful conversations with journalists on this pivotal topic during the event.

One of the highlights from the event was the panel discussion on Generative AI's Role in Shaping Tomorrow's Newsrooms, hosted by our very own Co-Managing Director, Tom Fry. During the session, Peter Ray Allison from ComputerWeekly and Stephanie Ball from ERP Today shared their insights, shedding light on the promise and challenges that generative AI brings to newsrooms.

Generative AI is evolving at breakneck speed and it's got the power to flip industries on their heads, especially the communications, news, and media sectors. The many speakers at the summit addressed the evolution of conversational AI tools like Chat GPT, and how they are shaking up industries.

Business leaders have been faced with a crucial decision: How can I best use generative AI to improve the experiences of my customers and employees?

Many speakers made it clear: organisations need to adapt or get left behind. They suggested that if stakeholders are wary about bringing AI into the mix, it's best to start small—but start now. Companies should look for areas where AI can make an instant impact, like customer service or product suggestions. Business leaders shouldn’t just chase the latest tech trend - remember, the aim in adopting this technology should be to boost the customer experience and improve the services your organisation offers.

The panel tackled the need to educate journalists and communications professionals on using generative AI responsibly and ethically.
